Bob Dylan sets up New Zealand tour dates

This winter, singer Bob Dylan would stage 2 gigs in New Zealand. Dylan’s 3rd visit to New Zealand in 7 years has him playing shows in August and September in places like Hamilton and Christchurch. This is because of Auckland’s Vector Arena being engaged for a season of Disney on Ice on 8th to 10th August.
In 2007 and 2011, the Bob Dylan shows at Vector polarized opinion with gigs that few fans in attendance thought was brilliant while others preferred walked out of, complaintive of poor sound and said that Dylan’s live renditions of his tracks were actually unrecognizable.
A study of the comments about his 2011 show was divided between proclamations of his genius as well as scathing views on the gig. On 9th august, the music legend would play at a 6000 capacity crowd in Hamilton’s Claudelands Arena. On 10th September, he would play in front of a 9000 capacity CBS Canterbury Arena in Christchurch.
Dylan’s two shows in New Zealand would bookend 9 arena and theatre concerts in Australia. According to reports, an Australia based promoter stated that the American star had selected to bypass Auckland because of his earlier tours and the problems with venue availability. A close source told that sharing the love among his regional fans was also a really appealing idea. Bob Dylan is in his 70s now but still, he wants to put on an event that has grace, significance and depth.
